South West London Breast Screening
breast screening saves lives

Welcome

The South West London Breast Screening Service is part of the NHS Breast Screening Programme. It provides breast screening for women from the age of 50, in the areas covered by Croydon, Kingston, Richmond, Sutton & Merton and Wandsworth Primary Care Trusts.

Breast screening aims to find breast cancer at an early stage,
often before there are any symptoms. To do this, an x-ray is taken of each breast (mammogram). Early detection may often mean simpler and more successful treatment. read more

When will I be invited for breast screening?

The South West London Breast Screening Service invites over 50,000 women per year for screening. Screening is organised according to your GP practice. Once every three years your GP practice will be contacted and all women between the ages of 50 and 70 will be routinely invited.
